Business Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 August 2026

These terms apply to salons and businesses that use Terugo to run a digital loyalty programme. By subscribing to Terugo, your business agrees to them. They're separate from the Customer Terms of Use that apply to your customers.

1. About Terugo

Terugo is a digital loyalty wallet platform. It lets your business run a stamp-based loyalty programme, and lets your customers collect stamps and track rewards on their phones. Terugo is provided by Michelle (business registration pending with CIPC).

2. Your subscription

Terugo is offered on a monthly subscription of R459 per month per business, billed in advance. Your subscription continues until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of your current paid month.

Payments are handled by our payment provider, PayFast. If a payment fails, we may follow up and, if it stays unpaid, suspend or close your account (see section 7).

3. What you can do with Terugo

Your subscription lets you set up your salon profile, create a loyalty programme, add optional bonus rewards, log stamps for your customers, and redeem their rewards. You're responsible for the rewards you offer and for honouring them with your customers.

4. Your customers' information — your responsibility

This section matters. When your customers join your salon on Terugo, their personal information (name, mobile number, stamps) is processed through the platform. In relation to your customers, your business is the responsible party for that information, and Terugo acts as an operator processing it on your behalf and under your instruction.

You agree to only collect and use customer information lawfully, to have a valid reason for adding a customer, and to comply with POPIA in how you treat your customers. Terugo will process customer information only to provide the service.

How Terugo handles personal information generally is set out in our Privacy Policy.

5. Using Terugo fairly

Please use Terugo only to run your own genuine loyalty programme. Don't use it to send spam, add people without a lawful basis, misuse customer contact details, or interfere with the platform. The shared Terugo notification number is used to send loyalty messages on your behalf — you agree not to misuse it.

6. Availability and support

We work to keep Terugo running reliably, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may improve, change or pause parts of the platform. Terugo is provided "as is" to the extent allowed by law.

7. Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close your account if your subscription goes unpaid, or if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken. Where an account is closed, customer data linked to your salon is handled in line with our data retention practices. You can also cancel and close your account at any time.

8. Our responsibility

To the extent permitted by South African law, Terugo's total liability to your business is limited, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll give reasonable notice of important changes. Continuing to use Terugo after a change means your business accepts the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
