Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 August 2026

These terms apply when you use Terugo. By joining a salon on Terugo, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Terugo is

Terugo is a digital loyalty wallet. It lets you collect stamps at beauty salons you visit and keep track of the rewards you've earned, all in one place on your phone. Terugo is provided by Michelle (business registration pending with CIPC).

2. Your account

You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. Keep your phone and number secure — anyone with access to them may be able to access your Terugo wallet. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

Terugo is intended for people aged 18 and over.

3. Stamps and rewards come from the salon, not Terugo

This is important: the rewards are offered and provided by each salon, not by Terugo. Terugo records your stamps and shows what you've earned, but the free service, product or discount itself is given to you by the salon.

Each salon sets its own reward, decides how many stamps are needed, and honours the reward in-store. Terugo isn't responsible for a salon's rewards, prices, availability, service, or for a salon that closes or stops taking part.

A stamp is added when a salon scans your code in-store. Rewards are redeemed the same way — you show your code and the salon redeems it. Stamps and rewards have no cash value and can't be exchanged for cash.

4. Using Terugo fairly

Please use Terugo only for its intended purpose. Don't try to cheat the stamp system, use someone else's account without permission, interfere with the app, or use it for anything unlawful.

5. Your information

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. You can remove a salon card or delete your whole account at any time from your Profile in the app.

6. Availability

We work to keep Terugo running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change or pause parts of the service from time to time. Terugo is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law.

7. Our responsibility

To the extent permitted by South African law, Terugo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for matters that are the salon's responsibility (including the rewards themselves). Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that can't be excluded.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using Terugo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make important changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Terugo after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
